Hosted by Spencer Jenkins (Founder and Exective Director of Queer Kentucky) Sarah Gardiner (Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Nanny Goat Press), Beards and Lavender honors the age-old tradition of gays and lesbians standing together—married in our mutual trauma and trust. We laugh together, we cry together, and we share urinal-cake-scented bathrooms at queer bars. We’ve probably even made out a few times. While society may have told us that Gays and Lesbians have become the oil and water of the queer community, our longstanding history of covering for each other, fighting for each other, and loving one another outweighs our media portrayal.

My Gay Kentucky Home with Silas House
Monday Oct 04, 2021
Monday Oct 04, 2021
Spencer and Sarah took a quick trip to Lexington, Kentucky to catch up with acclaimed novelist, Silas House. House is the nationally bestselling author of six novels--Clay's Quilt, 2001; A Parchment of Leaves, 2003; The Coal Tattoo, 2005; Eli the Good, 2009; and Same Sun Here (co-authored with Neela Vaswani) 2012, and Southernmost (June 2018)--as well as a book of creative nonfiction--Something's Rising, co-authored with Jason Howard, 2009; and three plays.
